Amendments

After receiving feedback from our focus group, friends and family, we went through our video and work on the areas based upon the feedback. As a group we went through the video and looked to see if there was anything that we wanted to change/edit too. We found that in a lot of our black and white footage we had to adjust the brightness and contrast due to some areas being too dark and the audience not being able to see the image clearly. Focusing on the audio too we wanted to make sure that the cuts matched the beat, a technique used in many music videos. We ended up moving footage around, adding footage and taking some out. We made the cuts quicker towards to match the pace of the audio and creating more of an atmosphere.

ROUGH CUT
FINAL CUT

We wanted to make sure that there was an equal balance between performance and narrative too as we felt that the narrative overpowered the video. In some of the performance footage we felt that Jack and Fraser stood out the most, so we wanted to make sure that Berkan and Will were seen a lot in the narrative. We wanted the band to be represented as care-free and fun, just a group of young lads making music and having fun. One of the typical conventions for the indie genre.

CHANGES

Overall we are all really happy with how the music video has come out. We all feel that the image we had in our heads before shooting as really come out in the video. This video also gave us a chance to experiment with different types of shooting and editing which we feel has really worked within the video.
