For brief 5 we had to create our own fragrances and present them. I really enjoyed this brief and was really proud of the brand that I had created. I wanted to look into why sex sells a bit more and to see that

if we removed the fetishisms from the concept of selling sex, would we be left with anything new?
I felt that by removing some of those factors, it left messages of body positivity, self-love and acceptance a lot more open, therefore I wanted to create a brand that embodied that.
Valid is a solid fragrance brand that is inclusive of all genders, race, sexuality and culture because they are all valid and vital part of what make us unique. My target audience was a generation z based audience so I wanted to create something meaningful but something that also had some individualistic elements so I came up with the concept of creating a solid fragrance that was sculpted and in the shape of a torso, taking homage to ancient Greek sculptures. The product will be customisable so it would allow you to add features such as scars, body hair or tattoos – these would be embossed in the product itself.
I really enjoyed pushing myself to think outside the box when it came to making this brand and product and because I felt so strongly about the message I wanted to portray I felt as if that became a very prominent factor throughout my presentation.
