Purchasing from Black Owned Brands

The last week has been a whirlwind for me as I can image It has been for others too. I’ve spent a lot of my time educating myself further on the global movement, Black Lives Matter and had a lot of conversations with my friends and family about it too.

I’ve wanted to help in every way I possibly can whether that be signing petitions, donating, recommending books/shows/films in order to educate others further and taking to my social media platforms to share and talk openly about everything that is happening.
Something that really resonated with me was that “Black people are less likely to have access to capital to fund their businesses, so it’s critical non-POC support them because these purchases can make a major impact on the potential growth,”. I was never aware of this, so when I found out I was shocked to say the least.
I know so many people across the global are now standing alongside the black community and trying to help in every way that they can, I’ve seen a lot things within the last two days that its now time to push further than social media and start doing things like purchasing from black owned businesses in order for this to be an ongoing movement.
